WHAT AN HACKATHON IS?

An hackathon is a collaborative solution development event. The goal is to find useful and creative solutions to solve certain problems during the duration of the event. Participants usually come from different areas and often work on their projects in cross-functional teams.

WHAT ITALY OF TOMORROW IS?

ITALY OF TOMORROW is a collaborative digital platform that brings together people, institutions and companies to collaborate, create, amplify and disseminate innovative solutions and creative ideas that have an economic, social or cultural value for Italy and its population, deeply affected by the crisis generated by COVID-19.

WHAT LABS FOR ITALY IS?

Labs for Italy is a creative collaboration event in hackathon style. Our workshops are spaces for participation that will focus on two main areas.
The ITALIAN IDENTITY Lab is looking for ideas to create economic and productive value for the strategic and emblematic Italian sectors: tourism, food and wine, entertainment and content, sport, agriculture, industry, crafts or export (in the post COVID scenario).
The PEOPLE Lab, on the other hand, aims to find solutions to the social problems generated by COVID-19 and which involve families, their safety, education, information and health.

WHEN WILL LABS FOR ITALY TAKE PLACE?

Labs for Italy will take place over the weekend from 10 to 12 July. Together with your team, you have 48 hours to build a solution to solve one of the specific challenges that we will propose to the participants. The event will begin on Friday 10 July at 14.00 with a kick-off seminar and will end on Sunday 12 July at 19.00 with a closing event.

ARE THERE PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS?

We are looking for programmers, designers, creatives, problem solvers and socially engaged citizens. There are no particular requirements to participate in the online Hackathon, just an email address, Internet access and the right motivation.

DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO DEVELOP TO PARTICIPATE?

No, anyone with enthusiasm, innovative ideas and Internet access can participate!

CAN I JOIN IT ALONE?

Sì, puoi iscriverti da solo e sarai assegnato ad una squadra in base ai tuoi interessi. Sarai invitato a partecipare ad una sessione con il tuo team venerdì mattina per conoscere i tuoi colleghi. Nel caso in cui non fossi soddisfatto del team a cui sei stato assegnato, ti aiuteremo a cambiarlo.

CAN I JOIN IT AS A TEAM?

Yes, absolutely. Make sure to enter the email addresses of all your team members on the registration form. Please note: each team member must register individually.

IS IT A COMPETITION? IS THERE SOMETHING TO WIN?

A jury will evaluate the projects and nominate the most important winners. Among the winning projects, those deemed most useful and feasible in a short time, take advantage of the ITALIA DI DOMANI platform and its partners to move to subsequent implementation levels.

WILL THE PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE SUPPORT DURING HACKATHON?

During the hackathon you and your team will have our mentors by your side. They are experts in a specific topic and will support you with their feedback and knowledge during the entire event.
